Heinrich -:- Software
Heinrich is a prototype for an educational tool with which you can draw Schenkerian analysis graphs. These graphs are multi-layered so that you can fade in and out the material which lies between the foreground level and the Urlinie.
Heinrich lets you assign different layers to notes and objects in order to express the multi-level structure of the Schenkerian analysis method.
Heinrich was developed in VVVV and can be downloaded by clicking on this link:
This software is released under the GNU/GPL license.
To run the software you will need to open it with VVVV.exe. The VVVV software is available for free on www.vvvv.org . Heinrich was successfully tested with VVVV 40beta21. Since VVVV is only for Windows, no Heinrich for Mac/Linux. :-(
To view in fullscreen: selct renderer window and press alt+F4. Same combo to get back to windowed mode.
Press alt+1 while renderer is selected or in fullscreen to save a screenshot in the patch’s directory.
Heinrich features Unfoldings, Neighbours, Incomplete Neigbours, Passing notes and many other Schenkerian stuff. But unfortunately you can’t (still) save your graphs.
You can follow this video tutorial to get started with Heinrich.

Let me know if you’d like to put your hands (mouse) on this absolutely messy VVVV patch and add some features, or rewrite it from scratch, or implement a new version in another language!
The ToDo list:
★ Adding the SAVE feature! There is some attempt inside the patch, but I don’t remember where (!) and how.
★ Redesigning interface!
★ Poliphony?
★ Other missing objects, maybe.
